Some of you may have seen this before, but I figured I'd throw it up for the rest of unenlightened folks who havent seen it

Pulled from: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/t...&sid=1

Ages ago, in time not our own, the Titans did, with much might and pompous laughter, form Azeroth to their liking. And in those times, they did lay down the roles unto which all the paths of warring would adhere. These roles were three, Damage, Healing, and Tanking. And lo, the damage-dealing classes did bicker within their own circles about how best to slay their opponents, and the healers did all agree to make sure all were well, even whilst bickering still ensued.

And yay, the greatest of all these roles, the tanks, did also bicker amongst themselves, for each did wonderith whom among them was best to aggravate enemies unto themselves what so their allies may not bear the brunt of the assaults. In the beginning, it was the warrior what did allow the most damage to be directed unto themselves, and woe be to the druid or paladin that did attempt to take this role from them. Then the gates of the Dark Portal opened, and the Great Patcher in the Sky ("Sky" interpreted as California) did bestow the gifts of competent tanking upon the bear and the paladin, though for all their strife the warrior did still kicketh the most ass.

And then, when the undead once again raised thine eyes to Northrend, the Death Knights rose up and, though their tank spec is of great and mighty an uproar, they did just fine I guess. However, at this time, the Great Patcher in the Sky also did see it good to homogenize the tanking classes, what so that it became somewhat confusing which class was truly best for all situations.

At this time, the great tank prophet, Møses (whose guild mates surely did want to add as a friend, but, alas, could not because they did not know how to do his funny "ø" thing), did climb to the top of the Storm Peaks, and received these commandments from the titans what rested there:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I: Thou shalt hold thy agro, and maketh sure to download and always watcheth thy Omen threat meter, for it is good.

II: Though shalt remember to tab tank whenst battling many a foe; thy allies may be attacking another enemy besides yours, for they are noobs.

III: Though shalt not put thine Vigilance onto thy healer, for his aggro is too small to be of any worry to thine own.

IV: Thou shalt honor thy raid leader, and not be pissedith at him when he does not assign you Main Tank position, for yay, there is probably a good reason. Unless he does doth assign the spot to that nub, Troggy, in which case thou art allowed to ragequit.

V: Thou shalt keep thy debuffs on thy enemy, for, verily, they shall wail upon thee with great anger should their power be returned to full.

VI: Thou shall remember when switching specs to activate righteous fury, for while it is eternal, it does doth switch off when you art not in thy tanking set.

VII: Thou shalt not pop thy emergency cooldowns prematurely, wait for thy healers and raid leaders to ask for it. For verily, he who does not do so shall find himself slayed (pwnd) quite fast whence the soft enrage timer is hit.

VIII: Thou shall not freak out when a patch does seem to nerf thy effectiveness as a tank, for we all know that by the time the next patch hits you will be claiming thy OP'ness once again.

IX: Thou shall not commit adultery against thy guild, since well-equipped tanks are few and far between. Should thy guild's regular tank not show up, it shall be thy head on a platter when you must inform thy dudes that you are already saved to the raid.

X: Thou shall stack much stam on thy stam set, and much defense on thy defense set. Mix these not, for it be like mixing wine and piss, wine being the former of the two attributes. For verily, thy primary stat should always be stamina lest the situation ask otherwise. And thou shalt not roll for pieces of gear that upgrade thy fellow tank more, even if you have been waiting for that drop. For, I say to you, they shall hold a grudge against you forever more.

XI: Thou shall remember to keep thy vent open and thy microphone close at hand, for thy role is pivotal and may require thee to notify thy raid leader of an unexpected development.

XII: Thou shall respect thy fellow tanks, and not judge them hastily. For, verily, while thou hast many a preconception of which class is best for what position, a tank of excellent quality can mold into and take the responsibility of any tanking position be their skill genuine and their wit quick.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And Møses did come down from the mountain upon his Time-Lost Proto Drake, which he did farm for several days without sleep or meal. And behold, there was peace in the tanking community. And the healers did heal, the DPS'ers pull aggro despite many warning to slow their DPS, and the tanks did make sure they all stayed unscarred while they did get slapped around by his foes.

LOL!
Disclaimer: Keep in mind that these are suggestions, and my opinions. Just because I think they are great, doesn't mean that you have to agree with them. I understand that you may not like any of it, and I'm ok with that... so you have no reason to not be okay with it too :)
